Victory Pushes Caterpillars Record to 48-23
|
It was a fun time at The Cocoon, where the Columbia River Rats and Grand Forks Caterpillars tangled.
The Grand Forks Caterpillars got a strong performance from pitcher Taylor Geldard, who stymied the Columbia offense en route to a 5-2 win at The Cocoon. In 8 innings, Geldard surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from right fielder Gabriel Torres. For the game, Torres went 1-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Grand Forks a 3-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Geldard told reporters after the game.
The Caterpillars bumped their record to 48-23 with this latest triumph.
