Seahawks Jolt Chukars with Late Rally
|
Myrtle Beach Seahawks starter António García was in fine form against the Idaho Falls Chukars at Idaho Falls Park, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Myrtle Beach reliever Ralph Owens picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Orinosuke Sato was collared with the loss. The Chukars, now 16-54, have lost 12 straight.
Roberts Hamhock had the most critical at-bat for Myrtle Beach. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Hamhock hit a 2-0 cutter from Orinosuke Sato for a run-scoring single. It put Myrtle Beach in front, 2-1.
In postgame comments to the Myrtle Beach Daily News, García said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
