Caterpillars Subdue Idaho Falls, 3-2
|
The Grand Forks Caterpillars topped the Idaho Falls Chukars by the score of 3-2, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Elwiin Stuy. Stuy was 3 for 4 with 3 singles for the Caterpillars. The winner was Taylor Geldard in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Jing Hsi took the loss. Juan Castro earned the save for Grand Forks, his 17th of the year.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Caterpillars were trailing 2-1. Glenn Randall delivered a two-out 2-run single for Grand Forks, catapulting his team into the lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Randall after the game.
Grand Forks goes to 36-19. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
