Late Rally by Patriots Secures Win
The Boston Patriots did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Portland Evergreens at Dunkin Donuts Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Sam Mooney, who captured player of the game honors. The first-place Evergreens have lost 4 straight games.

Dennis Wacher was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Mooney said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
