Seahawks Squelch Bulls Offense in Shutout Win
|
Jordan Calhoun pitched well, but the Mt. Vernon Bulls still lost the game, falling 3-0 to the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Seahwaks Stadium. Mike Preston picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-1. Jordan Calhoun was tagged with the loss. Chris Whitfield closed the game out for Myrtle Beach, earning his 3rd save.
César Salvatierra, who is tied for 10th in the 3A in triples with 2, helped out the Myrtle Beach cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Salvatierra told the Myrtle Beach Daily News.
At 26-20, Myrtle Beach is in 6th place in the Menard's A.
