Flamingos Win at D.C., 7-6
|
Fans who came to Washington Stadium watched the Las Vegas Flamingos and the D.C. Divided fight to the finish.
The Las Vegas Flamingos had to overcome a big game from D.C. designated hitter Yao-pang Chiang to leave Washington Stadium with a 7-6 victory. Chiang slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Vaugh Chesser, credited with the save, is now 28 for 33 in save opportunities.
Takashi Noda, who is tied for 9th in the PL with a .514 slugging percentage, aided the Las Vegas cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
Noda said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The Divided, now 44-61, have lost 6 in a row.
