Multi-HR Day for González as Dragoons Overpower Bulls, 7-1
|
It was a fun time at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, where the Mt. Vernon Bulls and Louisiana Dragoons tangled.
Pancho González made an impact in the 7-1 Louisiana win over Mt. Vernon. González, who is tied for 8th in the 3A with a .524 slugging percentage, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Ricardo Ferreira was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
González had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 changeup from Abdul-Nasir Rabah, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Dragoons a 1-0 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for González.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," González said.
The Dragoons have an impressive 20-12 record.
