Seahawks Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks stopped the Columbia River Rats, 6-5, behind an impressive performance from Al Ellis. The 24-year old second baseman made life miserable for Columbia pitching. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Myrtle Beach reliever Francisco Deleón was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Kit Scheetz took the loss for Columbia. Today's win puts Myrtle Beach at 11-10, while Columbia falls to 12-9.
Ellis had the big at-bat for Myrtle Beach. With one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, giving Myrtle Beach the 6-5 win.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Philippe Parmentier.
