The Chesapeake Continentals thumped the Springfield Shooters, 9-1, at Springfield Stadium. Bernie Nutall was a big reason his team got the win. Nutall went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Tsu-wee Qi got credit for the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 8.1 innings. The Continentals improved to 47-54.
