Portland pitcher Pierre Levegh did his part in helping his team beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Portland reliever Ming-jiang Wu picked up the win to move to 5-1. Keith Johnson suffered the loss. Portland improves to 61-40 with the win. They lead their division by 3˝ games.

John Ennis was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Evergreens first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

Levegh attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
