Ghosts Top Continentals to Even Record
|
The Casper Ghosts had to overcome a big game from Chesapeake center fielder Tomás Valdéz to leave Chesapeake Grounds with a 11-3 victory. Valdéz went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Ghosts saw their win-loss record go to 47-47. At the same time, the Continentals fell to 45-49.
Tatsui Kiyomizu's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Casper. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Casper leading 1-0, the catcher hit a 2-run double.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Chesapeake manager Ismael González. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
