Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Juan Ramírez, the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Minnesota Loons, 5-3. Ramírez went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks for the Love Boats. Giuseppe Farina, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.2 innings. Harry Stogsdill earned his 6th save in 12 chances.
Early in the game, center fielder Wilton Maynard had a 2-run home run for Lake Minnetonka. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Love Boats on top, 2-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Maynard told the Lake Minnetonka Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
With the win, the Love Boats have a record of 33-53.
