Riding the 2-hit performance of the 25-year old first baseman Keizo Morishita, the Tacoma Fur Traders stopped the Springfield Shooters, 9-2. Springfield, at 33-50, has lost 4 straight.

In the bottom of the third inning, shortstop Bill Perkins had a key at-bat for the Fur Traders. With Tacoma leading 2-1, he banged a 3-run home run.

Perkins told a Tacoma Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
