Continentals Jolt Silver Sox with Late Rally

Getting a good performance from left fielder Bernie Nutall, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Reno Silver Sox, 5-3. Nutall went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Continentals. Chesapeake reliever Raúl Romero picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Dale Snider shouldered the loss. Tom King earned the save for Chesapeake, his 11th of the year.
Nutall had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count cutter from Aaron Houchens, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Continentals a 5-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Nutall.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Nutall. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Silver Sox, at 42-39, have lost 5 straight games.
