Casas Delivers Walk-Off Win for Sonics
|
The Atlantic City Sonics faced a tough opponent in Mercer Island pitcher Dan Taylor, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Sonics Ballpark by a final score of 3-2. Taylor went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Atlantic City reliever Amando Codes picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Mark Robinson absorbed the loss. The Sonics' win now puts them at 44-35.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Atlantic City center fielder António Casas, facing Mark Robinson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Sonics the 3-2 win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Casas, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
