Silver Sox Slip Past Minnesota, 7-6

Bill Bean did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minnesota Loons from losing, 7-6, to the Reno Silver Sox at Tennille Grounds. Bean was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The winner was Hans Rager in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Martyn Drdio took the loss. The Silver Sox are now 38-33, while the Loons fall to 37-34.
Reno won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Martyn Drdio on the mound for Minnesota, center fielder Rob Brooks hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Silver Sox fans to their feet.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Reno manager Emílio Sáenz.
