Fur Traders Defeat Continentals, 7-4
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders dealt the Chesapeake Continentals a 7-4 loss at Chesapeake Grounds. Michael Palledorous was the star on offense. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Walt Crouch earned the win for Tacoma. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 7-2. Jeffrey Chesser was called on to finish, recording his 20th save.
Stef Mosterd drove in 2 runs for Tacoma. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Raúl Romero. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Palledorous.
Tacoma is now 34-37. Chesapeake is 33-38.
