Juan Ramírez knocked in all 3 runs for the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, helping them beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 3-1. Héctor Barrera, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Lake Minnetonka is 26-42 and Mercer Island, with the loss, 42-26.
Ramírez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Firpo Marberry, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Love Boats a 3-1 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Ramírez.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ramírez told the Lake Minnetonka Herald.
