Casper right fielder Jeff Mouton had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Reno at Tennille Grounds. Mouton was 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Dan Fletcher, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-2. Hans Rager was credited with the save for Reno, his 12th of the season.
The Silver Sox beat the Ghosts in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Armando Romero produced in the bottom of the third. Batting against Casper pitcher Roy Bell, Romero gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run double.
"I felt good up there," said Romero. "I saw the ball well."
Reno is now 37-31, while Casper is 32-36.
