Despite a fine performance by center fielder Rob Brooks, the Reno Silver Sox suffered a 5-4 loss to the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Brooks went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Darren Minich, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 7-5. Esteban Miroz recorded his 6th save for Mercer Island.
Making an impact for the home team was Bart Goodine. In the bottom of the second, the 23-year old second baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-1, Screaming Eagles.
