Continentals Lose, 5-2, at Springfield Stadium

It was a good time at Springfield Stadium, where fans came to watch the Chesapeake Continentals and Springfield Shooters get after it.
The Springfield Shooters defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 5-2, in USPL Double A action at Springfield Stadium, with Springfield designated hitter Gianni Martin named player of the game. Marcos Germán got the win, improving to 3-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Telman Gadzhiyev contributed to the Springfield win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"It was our day today," Martin told the Springfield Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
