Extra-Inning Win by Screaming Eagles over Silver Sox
|
Mercer Island overcame a superlative game from Jen-ta Men to beat Reno, 3-2. The Reno pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Mercer Island reliever Tim Nesheim picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Raúl Valdéz was saddled with the loss. The first-place Screaming Eagles have a one-game lead in their division.
Oliver Burrell made it 3-2, Mercer Island, in the top of the 12th when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Screaming Eagles win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Reno skipper Emílio Sáenz.
