Bowers Rips Lake Minnetonka for 5 Hits
Ed Bowers put on a hitting clinic today as the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles dumped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats 14-2 at Heron Field.

The Mercer Island shortstop made Lake Minnetonka defenders earn their pay, lashing Lake Minnetonka pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Bowers said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Ed Bowers hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
