Continentals Win Again, Extend Streak to 8
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Nick Bechtel, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Casper Ghosts, 5-3. Bechtel went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Continentals. Joseph Chartier earned the save for Chesapeake, his 4th of the year. The Continentals, now 21-13, have won 8 in a row.
Santiago Valentín, who is tied for 8th in the PAA in RBI with 26, contributed to the Chesapeake win with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
