Morishita Goes Wild, But Miners Win
|
Tacoma first baseman Keizo Morishita had a good game, even if his team did not. The Fur Traders dropped a 10-5 decision to Marquette at Marquette Stadium. Morishita belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Devin Gaines got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 8.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 1. Marquette is now 17-7, 3˝ games up in the Premier AA.
Theron Montecalvo, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in total bases with 55, helped out the Marquette cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a bases-clearing double. For the game, the second baseman went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Montecalvo.
