Patriots Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at 5 Paces Park.
The Boston Patriots bested the Buckhead Bowties by a score of 6-5, with second baseman Edward Sterrenburg getting the main credit. On the day, Sterrenburg went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Patriots. Boston reliever José Sánchez was credited with the win, to go to 1-2. Octavius Pringle took the loss for Buckhead. Jamel Rhoads closed it out for his 1st save.
Francisco Agámez's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a changeup from Octavius Pringle for a 2-run home run. It put Boston in front, 6-4.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Agámez.
Boston has a 4-game win streak, while Buckhead has lost 3 in a row.
