Tritons Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Jersey City Tritons picked up a win at Jersey City Grounds, knocking off the Bloomington Longnecks, 4-3. Starting pitcher Doug Green was an essential part of his team's success. Jersey City is now 50-49. Bloomington is 48-51.
The Tritons got a big at-bat from right fielder Santiago Valentín. For the game, Valentín was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Jersey City a 4-3 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Green told reporters after the game.
