Despite a great performance by Bloomington third baseman Tony Martínez, the Baltimore Black Sox defeated the Longnecks by the score of 4-3 at Lookouts Ballpark. Martínez went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. The Black Sox, now 44-50, have won 5 in a row.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Bloomington hurler Pedro Lara, Raúl Cicerón drew a walk. The Black Sox went on to win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bloomington manager Decheng Sun. "But we decided not to take it."
