Walk-Off Seals 52nd Victory for Patriots

Boston Patriots starter Sam Mooney was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 4-3. Shuntavyious Primes-Willes picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Keith Johnson was tagged with the loss. Boston is now 52-38.
Juan Alvarado was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Northern Virginia manager David Lister said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
