Bakersfield designated hitter Jorge Velázquez had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 6-3 win over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Juan Sánchez, the winner, improved to 4-6. He held the Golden Cranes to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Nésto Gago picked up the save, his 2nd.
Velázquez had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from António Marés, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Nobles a 4-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Velázquez.
Velázquez called the win "a collective effort."
