Rainbow Mermaids Topple Patriots with Late Rally
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Eustacio Tafalla. Tafalla was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk for the Rainbow Mermaids on the day. Northern Virginia is now 35-54. Boston is 51-38.

Ray Walker had the most critical at-bat for Northern Virginia. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Walker hit a 1-0 fastball from José Sánchez for a run-scoring single. It put Northern Virginia in front, 5-4.
