|
Scranton beat Ellenburg on the strength of starter Apollo Cepeda's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Cepeda went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-5. Malulani Anakone closed it out for his 4th save.
Rodrigo Lugo went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks for Scranton. The 32-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Enrique Castillo. It was his 12th walk of the season.
Cepeda called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Supernovas.
