Both teams had their chances, but the Baltimore Black Sox eventually prevailed at Constellation Ballpark.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes got a superb performance from second baseman Su-wu Xiao. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Baltimore. The Black Sox won the game, 7-6. In spite of the loss, Xiao was named the player of the game. He hit 2 home runs. Ilie Paunescu closed it out for his 8th save.
Daniel Bertrand hit a bases-clearing double off Russ Horne in the bottom of the third, which put the Black Sox in front, 3-0. In addition to the double, Bertrand had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," Bertrand told the Baltimore Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Black Sox improved to 29-36.
