Tritons Squelch Longnecks Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Jersey City Tritons topped the Bloomington Longnecks, 3-0, in USPL Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark. The player of the game was Jersey City pitcher Jeff Enamorado. Enamorado picked up the win for Jersey City, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. Raúl Flores was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 9 save opportunities.
The Tritons got a big at-bat from third baseman Micheal Lovell. For the game, Lovell was 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Jersey City a 2-0 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Lovell told the Jersey City News.
Jersey City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
