Benefiting from Marcos Costa's productive game, the Baltimore Black Sox downed the Bloomington Longnecks, 12-5. Costa went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Black Sox. Bartolo Ruíz got the win, improving to 2-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 11 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. The Black Sox' win now puts them at 25-29.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mike Mays stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Longnecks were trailing 10-5, but had the bases loaded. That's when Plinio Pedrulho made a terrific pitch and Mays struck out. Gone was the dream of a Bloomington comeback.
