Lynx Fall to Longnecks, 8-1
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Calgary Lynx, 8-1, in USPL Triple A action at Lynx Stadium. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Atlantic City, New Jersey native Tony DeWitt. Anaías Pedroza, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. Bloomington now sits at 23-22, while Calgary falls to 25-20.
Richello Mabait went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Bloomington. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run triple off Melchor Morse. It was his 1st triple of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bloomington manager Decheng Sun.
