Santa Barbara got a terrific performance from pitcher José Guillén, but it wasn't enough to beat the Florida Men. Florida won the Psychos Ballpark contest, 2-1. Guillén was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Florida has now won 3 in a row.
Jorge Díaz, who leads the PAAA in total bases with 72, chipped in for Florida with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Santa Barbara manager Manuel Hernández said following the tough loss.
