Longnecks Get One-Run Win at Bakersfield
|
The Bloomington Longnecks topped the Bakersfield Nobles, 1-0, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. The player of the game was Bloomington pitcher and Atlantic City, New Jersey native Tony DeWitt. Bloomington now sits at 10-12, while Bakersfield falls to 10-12.
Bloomington first baseman Daniel Faraday helped the Longnecks go up, 1-0, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Faraday hit a run-scoring single off Bakersfield pitcher Oliver Rodríguez.
"It feels good to get this one," DeWitt told the Bloomington Citizen.
