Highlanders Win at Belvedere Park, 4-2
|
The Highlanders grabbed a win, 4-2, at Field of the Rawhides, overcoming a fine effort from Belvedere Park pitcher Santiago Ramírez. Ramírez went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Asheville starter Ernesto López was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. José Rosales notched his 22nd save in 25 chances.
Asheville grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases empty, Jeff Lowe delivered a solo home run, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Highlanders.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lowe told the Asheville News.
The 9th-place Highlanders are now 46-51, the Rawhides 52-45.
