Nationals Nip Sixshooters, 5-4
|
Westwood left fielder José Tirado had a good game, even if his team did not. The Sixshooters dropped a 5-4 decision to Ottawa at Sixshooters Stadium. Tirado went 1-2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ottawa reliever Ken Dundee picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Bru Sotelo was saddled with the loss. Charles Repka, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Ottawa used the timely hitting of José Bumgarnor to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nationals on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We found a way to get it done," Bumgarnor said.
Even with the win, the Nationals have a dismal 26-67 record.
