Torres slugs 2 home runs to Pull Hops to .500
|
The Yakima Hops topped the Billings Polar Bears by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Sergio Torres. Torres was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Hops on the day. Felipe Lozano got the win, improving to 5-7. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Hops, now 43-43, have won 7 in a row.
Torres had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a solo home run. The Hops went on to win.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Torres told the Yakima Bulletin.
