Polar Bears Need Extra Frames to Get Past BC
|
The Billings Polar Bears faced a tough opponent in San Antonio pitcher Abdul-Nasir Rabah, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Antonio Field by a final score of 6-2. Rabah went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Billings reliever Pierre de Vizcaya picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Andrew Valdés took the loss. Billings is now 47-33, San Antonio 31-49.
José Ortíz had the most critical at-bat for Billings. With one in the top of the tenth inning, Ortíz hit a 0-1 slider from Andrew Valdés for a 3-run home run. It put Billings in front, 5-2.
"Exciting game to play in," said Ortíz. "Getting the win makes it even better."
