The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks picked up a win at Asheville Park, knocking off the Asheville Highlanders, 3-2. Starting pitcher Ricardo Peito, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Gunnar Hoglund sewed up the save, his 8th. The Thunder Hawks now have a mark of 49-30.

It could have been a different outcome for Ft. Polk South, had it not been for Augusto Reyes, the 21-year old right fielder . Reyes contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Ft. Polk South up, 3-0.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Ft. Polk South manager Mark Harrison.
