The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 4-3, at The Igloo. Billings first baseman José Ortíz was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Polar Bears bumped their record to 46-31 with this latest triumph.

Ortíz had a game-changing double in the bottom of the ninth. On a 3-1 fastball from Gong Chin, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Polar Bears a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th double of the year for Ortíz.

"Put a star next to this win," Ortíz said.
