Thunder Hawks Roll Over Rapiers, 12-1
|
Benefiting from Shohei Otani's productive game, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks downed the Durham Rapiers, 12-1. Otani went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Thunder Hawks. Ratko Davidovic, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Rapiers to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Delano Turnipseed closed the game out for Ft. Polk South, earning his 7th save.
Otani went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 against the Rapiers. With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Ft. Polk South in front, 1-0.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Otani.
Ft. Polk South is now 47-29, Durham 37-39.
