Victory Over Thunder Hawks Takes Salem to 49-23
|
Salem and Ft. Polk South got after it at Thunder Hawks Ballpark.
Salem Misfits starter Kent Good turned in an exceptional performance against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, resulting in a Salem win, 7-2. Good, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks.
Damon Newbold, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in bases on balls with 40, aided the Salem cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Salem manager Allen Evans.
Salem improves to 49-23 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
