Otani has 4 hit night, Thunder Hawks Move to 42-25
|
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Shohei Otani, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 8-4. Otani was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Thunder Hawks. César Soto, credited with the win, is now 6-2. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings. Delano Turnipseed closed it out for his 6th save.
Yu Miao had a big run-scoring double for the Thunder Hawks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Ft. Polk South leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Daniel Riley and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-1.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Ft. Polk South manager Mark Harrison.
Ft. Polk South is now 42-25.
