Evergreens Beat Gold Sox in 10
|
The Chicago Gold Sox got a superb performance from third baseman Shimei Miura, but the Portland Evergreens still won the game, 6-4. Miura was named the player of the game despite the loss. He belted 2 home runs. Pierre Levegh was credited with the save for Portland, his 2nd of the season. The Evergreens' win now puts them at 43-32.
Chris Payling's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Austin Aries for a run-scoring single. It put Portland in front, 5-4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Portland manager Imran Baig.
