Polar Bears Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
With center fielder Júlio Salazar leading the charge, the Billings Polar Bears defeated the Yakima Hops, 5-3, at The Igloo. Salazar, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA in runs scored with 33, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Billings reliever Roberto Roque, now 5-0. The loser was Patrick Buzard. The first-place Polar Bears have won 4 in a row.
Salazar had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Polar Bears went on to win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Billings manager Todd England.
