Patriots Get One-Run Win at Vancouver
|
Wolf Den in Vancouver was the site of a competitive game between the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Boston Patriots.
Getting a good performance from first baseman Jorge Alejándrez, the Boston Patriots defeated the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 4-3. Alejándrez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Patriots. Manuel Sánchez got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Grey Wolves to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. Armando Garay finished the game for Boston and earned his 1st save.
Adrián Gómez had a big run-scoring single for the Patriots in the top of the third inning. With Boston trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Ray Skipworth and stroked the single to left. It was his 5th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Patriots ahead, 2-1.
"This was a good win," said Gómez.
With the win, Boston elevates its record to 6-2.
